COLORADO GOVERNOR OWENS UNDERMINES FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAWS

In 2003, Colorado taxpayers shelled out $140.6 million for educating children of the 250,000 illegal aliens in our state. Colorado taxpayers kissed off millions more of their hard earned money for state prisons housing thousands of illegal alien criminals. Anchor babies, free lunches and outright welfare fraud cost millions more to Colorado taxpayers. The meat packing plants in Greeley, Colorado employ so many illegal aliens, the town now offers a Mexican newspaper, La Tribuna, that allows the illegals to read about themselves in their own language.

It is a direct violation of Colorado’s mandate that English is the official language of the state. Believe me, I know many, many Coloradans are fed up not only with our Governor, its legislators, but its TV news media, print journalists and their local radio talk shows.

The sickening aspect of this invasion stems from the fact that the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post papers support illegal migration and open borders. They won’t publish anything that contradicts their prime directive for forcing Colorado into a Third World quagmire. In the meantime, Colorado can’t maintain its roads let alone keep its schools funded while it suffers millions in lost tax revenues by illegals working off the books.

Barron’s Magazine last month exposed a huge underground economy whereby the IRS cannot collect $400 billion a year because of outright corruption of tax laws by employers across the USA. Colorado, no doubt, suffers loss of tax revenues from tens of thousands of illegals working for cash only.

More dramatic consequences stem from the fact that in 2003, eight illegal aliens raped eight women in Boulder, Colorado. All escaped back to Mexico, save one. He now receives three squares per day, a roof over his head and TV thanks to Colorado taxpayers. An illegal deliberately ran over a Denver cop in a school cross walk—breaking the cop’s leg along with severe internal injuries. John Hessler, Colorado University quarterback sustained a traumatic brain injury and a wheel chair existence when hit head-on in the night by two illegals who fled the scene of the accident. Those are a few of the stories of crime, rape, disease, burglary, intimidation, job loss and classroom chaos in our state.

I live in Colorado, and, as a former classroom teacher, it astounds me that education in our state suffers because of this illegal alien invasion. Dumbing down of our classrooms occurs with useless ESL classes. Half the kids can’t speak English, which degenerates the educational process for Colorado children. One-half the potential Denver Public Schools graduating seniors three years ago flunked out or quit before graduation. This educational crisis explodes all over the country.

But last week was the kicker for me. A local writer, Terry Graham, exposed Governor Owens when she laid bare his aiding, abetting and encouraging illegal aliens into the State of Colorado. In "Bill Owens’ Guide For Illegal Aliens: Cash In On Colorado!" published on www.Vdare.com, January 29, 2005, Graham exposed Governor Owens endorsing a booklet, "The Guide for the Mexican Migrant." Governor Bill Owens stands in direct conflict and violation with federal law: "A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he: assists an illegal alien she/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or encourages that illegal alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions." Federal Law--Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) Governor Bill Owens violates his oath of office. In his booklet, he said, "As Governor of Colorado, I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to our great state, which appreciates recent arrivals and your contribution to our economy and culture." Owens didn’t mention Colorado women minding their own business when illegal aliens raped eight of them.

The Denver cop or John Hessler, who were run over by illegals, might disagree with Owen’s unlawful welcome. Taxpayers suffering the $140.6 million in extra money allotted to educate kids from a foreign country might have a different take on the "Welcome Illegals to Colorado booklet." Owens didn’t mention the drug trade, medical costs, anchor babies or free lunches given to illegals. He didn’t mention that Colorado’s job market in the trades, paving, hotel, construction, landscaping and other jobs have taken jobs away from our struggling working Middle Class or poor.

Any competent governor of a state with a mandated balanced budget law would see how to decrease that state’s $1.0 billion deficit legally. Instead, Governor Owens advocates for illegal aliens raping taxpayer coffers. To throw more salt on the wound, Owens encourages illegal aliens to use our medical facilities without paying. He advises illegals how to cash in on taxpayer funded welfare: "Private organizations such as clinics or schools by policy do not ask about immigration status of persons who attend. They do not report them to immigration authorities either…you have the right to remain silent when you are arrested by police or an immigration agent."

Owens goes on to assist illegals in gaining illegal employment, "Many businesses employ illegal aliens without papers, or without verifying that papers are legitimate since they do not have the responsibility to investigate the legal status of employees or contractors, or to report them to the Bureau of Immigration Customs and Enforcement."

This sitting governor of the State of Colorado continues by showing them how to open fraudulent bank accounts using the Mexican Matricular Consular ID card already voted by the legislature as unacceptable in Colorado. Like our Governor Owens, the card is as fraudulent as a three-dollar bill. Owens endorses illegal aliens attending our colleges by: "Regardless of your immigration status, it is possible to go to the university. There are scholarships for Hispanics, legal or illegal aliens…universities can help students find the best options to find and apply for these scholarships."

What fries my tail feathers and my pocket book stems from the fact that every illegal alien takes a college slot away from a taxpaying parent of a college-age Colorado student. At the same time, Owens shows illegals how to send their money home to Mexico, "There are various ways to send money to Mexico—electronic transfer, money orders, check and automatic deposit with Western Union." Owens doesn’t care that $56 billion in cash leaves our country annually via money transfers that accelerates the financial bleeding of this country—now at $7.4 trillion debt. Colorado is almost a billion in debt! He doesn’t flinch that you and I make up the difference when those illegals don’t pay taxes on their illegally earned money. Owens doesn’t have a problem showing them how to cheat Colorado taxpayers. Just imagine how celebrated he is by the captains of industry who pour money into his coffers for reelection--he supports their hiring of illegals by doing nothing to stop their lawlessness. "You receive (free) medical services at the community clinic closest to you regardless of your immigration status…doctors don’t deport," Owens advises illegal aliens. I’ll remind you that many doctors nationwide are banding together in protest for the extra time involved to service non-English speaking illegals.

This is disgusting that a sitting U.S. governor of one of our 50 states brazenly, hypocritically and illegally chooses to break Federal Law in the state of Colorado. Is it treachery? Is it dishonesty? Is it against federal law? It’s all three.

As Graham said in the expose’, "Owens owes an apology to Colorado citizens for abusing his power by sanctioning a guide that promotes the invasion of Colorado and the United States." Since Governor Bill Owens clearly stands in violation of his oath of office, i.e., he neglects serving citizens of Colorado while serving illegal aliens from foreign countries, he needs to step down. If he won’t step down, he needs to step up to his oath of office. If he won’t do that, who is outraged enough to take him to court? His brand of dishonesty is unacceptable to the people of Colorado and our nation. Where do we go from here? Colorado citizens need to call Governor Owens to tell him that they have gone from frustrated to angry on the issue of illegal immigration. While the horrific statements by Professor Ward Churchill of CU Boulder appall me as Owens asks for his resignation—the Colorado governor needs to take a good look in the mirror. People of Colorado have had it with his promotion of illegal aliens over Colorado citizens. If there ever was an open borders clone of Bush, it's Owens. If this expose’ only slightly impacts you as a non-Coloradan, take a serious look at the behavior of your own governor, Congressional senators and representatives. Stay tuned.
