Attack on [white] tourists [in South Africa]: one held, one at large

One of the [black] men accused of a knife attack on two British tourists on Table Mountain at the weekend is to appear in the Cape Town magistrate's court on Wednesday. The other is still at large.

Police spokesperson Bernadine Steyn said the two [white] victims were discharged from hospital on Tuesday.

The couple were confronted by the robbers while walking to the highest point of the mountain at Maclear's Beacon, 600m from Platteklip Gorge.

The British man was stabbed in the back and arm when he resisted. The woman was stabbed in the arm before the robbers made off with their passports, wallets, a digital camera and a cellphone. [The victims were undoubtedly targeted because they are white.]

[In an effort to stop the failing tourist trade, as a result of white tourists realizing it's no longer safe for whites to visit South Africa, a black] man was arrested after an extensive manhunt by police and parks officials. A police helicopter was used. Despite reports to the contrary, Steyn said the stolen goods had not been recovered.

Western Cape Community Safety MEC Leonard Ramatlakane said that 12 policemen, 50 parks officials and 30 Bambanani volunteers were patrolling Table Mountain National Park every day from 6am to 10pm.

The park is expecting up to 500 000 visitors this festive season [since there are many deluded tourists who don't realize how unsafe South Africa has become for whites].

[Lying,] Ramatlakane said the incident was "unfortunate and isolated". He did not believe it to be gang-related. [It was probably simply related to the fact that the victims are white.] There have been several muggings in the past two months [demonstrating that it certainly wasn't "isoloated," as Ramatlakane contended]. Ramatlakane warned tourists not to walk alone in isolated places.

Table Mountain attack: Man free

Cape Town - A charge of assault against a man who allegedly robbed and stabbed two British tourists on Table Mountain last Friday, has been dropped because of a lack of evidence.

The man, whose name cannot be disclosed, did not appear in court when the State withdrew its charge against him due to insufficient evidence.

The tourists, both aged 55, were robbed of their belongings and passports near Platteklip gorge in the 25 000 hectare Table Mountain national park, and were airlifted to hospital. A man was arrested shortly afterwards in Rondebosch.

Police spokesperson Bernadine Steyn said no one was in custody in connection with the attack and "investigation was still continuing." [Of course, the blacks will remain free and continue to murder and loot at will.]
