Book Review: The Jewish Strategy by Prof. Revilo Oliver

I've
long-felt that Revilo Oliver, a late-professor of the classics at the University
of Illinois for 32 years and a linguist, was among the most brilliant minds of
the 20th century. I had first read an article by him several years ago when a
colleague presented me with his thought-provoking magazine Liberty Bell. Shortly
thereafter, I read these small-magazines for a time, and felt they were the most
scholarly works available that related to America's present predicament, with
Dr. Oliver's brilliant insight into the world's innermost affairs. The book "The
Jewish Strategy," which was published post-humously, contains some of Dr.
Oliver's most brilliant revelations about a topic that definitely needs to be
reviewed.
Unlike many scholars today who are fearful of saying any word that begins with a
capital "J," Prof. Revilo Oliver reviewed such topics with such vigor and depth
that few can compare. What had always separated Dr. Oliver's writings from that
of others--at least, to me--was his ability to express things in such a way that
his arguments were generally incontrovertible, in that he seemed to cover every
minute detail of an event. His ability to research a topic and relate the
important information was without compare.
Some of the things Dr. Revilo wrote about were striking. For example, in today's
society, there may be many Americans who think that the plutocrats operating
within AIPAC and the ADL--as well as the dozens of Jewish strategists within the
Bush administration, pulling the strings from behind-the-scenes--are a new
thing. This is hardly the case. In fact, it is a never-ending yet reoccurring
story, the likes of which always repeat because civilization does not learn the
lessons the first time, et cetera, ad infinitum.
An excellent example of how history repeats itself, as described by the
brilliant linguist Dr. Oliver, would be an ancient Greek papyrus that told the
edict of Claudius. What can something about two millennia old tell us that we
don't already know--relating to that "J"-word that few dare mention? Quite a
bit, actually. For example, citing this ancient papyrus, he notes that Claudius
promulgated:
"…I now order the Jews not to agitate for more privileges than those they have
long enjoyed, and not again to have the unprecedented insolence of sending out
their own ambassadors as though they were living in a separate state. . . . [The
Jews] reap the profits of their own special privileges[*] . . . [F]urthermore,
(I order the Jews) not to import or bring in (i.e., into Alexandria) by ship
Jews from Asia Minor or Egypt (from which Alexandria was administratively
separated), a procedure which must necessarily excite in me the gravest
suspicions. Otherwise (i.e., if the Jews do not obey), I will by all means take
vengeance on them as being the fomenters of what is a universal plague
throughout the civilized world."
There is a footnote, denoted by the asterisk (*) above, which Dr. Oliver wrote
in reference to the above, which pointed out that while "Alexandrian citizens
paid heavy local taxes and additional taxes were levied on residents," "one of
the privileges of which the Jews boasted was exemption from all such taxes."
When we think about how our current society operates, with Jews often being
extended special privileges throughout society and viewed as some priestly class
by politicians who care more for these plutocrats than the electorate, we truly
begin to understand how little things have changed, and how we need to be more
concerned about instituting long-term changes than the insipid short-term
changes currently being instituted.
Dr. Oliver's writings throughout the book abound with such interesting facts,
relating to both ancient past and America today. His writings are timeless,
should be required reading for all college students. This book is well worth the
small cost you'll pay, and should be considered by all who have often wondered
about the Jewish impact on both American and world history.
