Letter from Matt Hale's mother to the press
[Editor's note: This letter was forwarded to me by Kathy Robertazzo, and I
believe it to be authentic.]
I am Matt Hale's mother! Read on!
The FBI put a mole in Matt's organization. The mole wore a wire and many of the
tapes were played during Matt's trial. Never once did Matt ask the mole to kill
the judge or anyone else. The mole is guilty of solicitation. In fact, Matt
never brought up the subject, ever. The mole asked Matt over and over again to
let him have the judge killed. Matt always said he wanted no part of it, he said
that he would work within the law.

You will understand why I am telling you Matt was framed by the FBI. He is
innocent and has been held under the SAM's for over two years. His sentencing
date is April 6, 2005. [He was sentenced to forty years in prison.] Of
course, after Judge Lefkow's husband and mother were killed, the government
thought Matt had sent a coded message through me, to have the judge's husband
and mother killed. Luckily, the killer left a note, confessing the crimes.
Matt was not angry with Judge Lefkow. She ruled in his favor in the trademark
case. She was then ordered to reverse her decision by a higher court.
Judge James T. Moody allowed the Ben Smith crimes to come into Matt's trial.
Matt was investigated shortly after the crimes and they never found any evidence
linking Matt to the crimes. The trial was tainted from the beginning because of
this. The judge ordered the prosecutor not to bring Ben Smith into his closing
argument. One of the last things the jury heard was " the government had
evidence that Matt Hale ordered a member of his organization to kill two people
and injure many others". The judge sat quietly, never said a word. Matt's
attorney, Thomas Durkin, never asked for a mistrial, never said a word. Nothing
was said to correct this lie.
Matt's attorney never presented a defense, not one witness, even though he had a
long list of people that wanted to testify for Matt, including Matt and his
father. Durkin bad-mouthed Matt before the jury through-out the trial and during
his closing argument.
Also, Durkin postponed Matt's trial because he needed more time to prepare, thus
giving the government more time to add more counts, which they did. The
truth--Durkin's daughter was getting married and he wanted time off for that.
Meanwhile, Matt sits under the SAM's.
After the trial and the guilty verdict, Matt fired Durkin and hired his cousin,
Tim Murphy. He failed to do a proper pre-sentencing brief and cost Matt the time
to file the motions. The time allowed to file had lapsed. Matt filed his motions
but the judge refused to consider them because they were untimely.

You will see that Matt is innocent! He is representing himself since he fired
Murphy.
After the killing of Judge Lefkow's husband and mother, Matt gave me a statement
to give to the media denouncing the killings and expressing his condolences to
the family. Now, his father and I have not been allowed to see Matt or get a
phone call from him.
Understand this! Matt has wanted to take a polygraph or truth serum test since
the Ben Smith crimes. He has continued to want to take them. According to
Durkin, the prosecutor said he wouldn't drop the charges, even if Matt passed.
DO YOU THINK MATT SHOULD BE LOCKED UP BECAUSE HE IS A RACIST? WHERE IS OUR
FREEDOM OF SPEECH?
Matt went to law school, graduated with a doctorate in law, passed the bar and
planned to practice law.
