Yet another US Attorney (D.C.) was fired by the Bush Administration - this
time to protect the President from criminal prosecution.
The removal of a US Attorney from his position of influence is often used as a
ploy for political ends and/or for protecting the political elite from
prosecution. The 8 fired US Attorneys currently under media scrutiny are not the
only ones fired by the Bush Administration for those ends. For instance, refer
to the case of Mr. Roscoe C. Howard, former US Attorney for Washington D.C. who
was fired by Attorney General Ashcraft at the insistence of President Bush.
At the time the President was under criminal investigation by Mr. Howard.
Some facts of that case are provided herewith:
On May 10, 2004 criminal charges were filed with US Attorney Roscoe Howard
against President Bush for irregularities and violations of the criminal
statutes in the proceedings of civil case no. 1:03-02496 (EGS), US District
Court for D.C., as well as for the cover-up of crimes committed by high
officials in the Bush Administration. Mr. Howard had a statutory obligation to
investigate and initiate the prosecution of those crimes. However, following
vicious clashes between Howard and the Whitehouse in the ensuing two weeks, and
in order to protect the President from impeachment and civil and criminal
prosecution, Mr. Howard was summarily fired on May 28, 2004. (Since being fired,
Mr. Roscoe Howard has been practicing with the law firm Sheppard, Mullin,
Richter & Hempton in Washington D.C.)
Mr. Kenneth Wainstein was immediately appointed in Howard's place on May 28,
2004. Mr. Wainstein effectively suppressed the information and investigations of
the crimes, and as a result the criminal endeavor proceeded uninterruptedly into
the Court of Appeals (D.C.) (case no. 04-5324) and into the US Supreme Court
(case no. 05-140).
In an apparent reward for rendering this assistance and favor to the President,
Mr. Wainstein was soon promoted to the position of Assistant US Attorney General
under AG Gonzales.
Despite an ongoing battle to expose the profound irregularities in the
Administration, the crimes filed against the President and senior officials in
the above cases have, to this day, successfully been suppressed. The firing of
Mr. Roscoe Howard is but another example of the Bush Administration's ability to
cover up the crimes. Further examples abound in the court documents of the

the crimes.
